A Day In My Life
So the comment that I hear most often from people (women) is that they do not have time. Time to work out, time to run an at home business, time to make changes in their lives and health, etc. People often marvel at how I am taking care of four kids, going to school online, doing field work, and running my business, while still finding time to work out and be healthy. I thought I would give a glimpse into what a typical day in my life is like, for those who are interested, to show that with a little time management, and some nifty technological tools, it can all be done without too much sacrifice (maybe a little sleep).
This is an example of a typical “goal” day. A day in which I actually follow through with everything I must get done. Now, there are definitely days when not everything happens, but this is what I shoot for on an almost-daily basis.
5:00 am – Wake up, get in workout clothes and shoes, take laptop down stairs, log in, check emails, reply to any emails/facebook messages/tweets, write down my goals and ideas for my business, read 10 pages of personal development books
5:30 am – Turbo Fire workout (depending on which one, or combination of ones, I do this should usually take about an hour)
6:30 am – cool down, get kids clothes laid out, check backpacks, etc.,
6:45-7:00 am – wake kids, get them breakfast, they get dressed, etc.
7:45-7:50 am – drop kids off at school
8:00 am – Ava and I come home, Ava usually wants to get on the desktop computer to practice her letters on Starfall.com which is a great site for preschoolers/primary grade kids for phonics – I might get another workout in while she is doing that, depending on what I did that morning
9:00am – 12:00 Any business conference calls or webinars on the schedule, researching health and fitness information to provide for my business, continuous replies to emails/messages/tweets, frequent cuddles, conversations, stories, songs, or other interactions with Ava (working from home allows me that luxury – isn’t it great?!?!), check into hootsuite.com where I can type in the information that I researched and schedule those facebook status updates and/or twitter updates to go out on particular days and times, so that I don’t have to be on “all the time”, it does that for me (cool, huh?)
12:00 pm – lunch time with Ava! We might play or read or sing or have a short dance party, or she might help me do a load of laundry or two
1:00-2:15 pm – Connect with people on facebook and twitter, chatting, getting to know people
2:15 pm – Pick boys up from school
2:30 – whenever - Help boys with homework until it is ALL done.
Whenever – 5:30 - when the boys are finished with their homework, they get to play/watch tv so they hurry off to do that, while I usually get the dishwasher emptied and start dinner, then head back to my computer to start on my own homework. I usually just get a little at a time done on that, reading bits and pieces, then posting to my course web site, and bobbing back and forth through household duties.
5:30 – Dinner, and this is usually about the time the hubs comes home. We will spend time talking about our days while I oblige him with the daily requested neck/shoulder rub before he dives into plans for the next days’ work.
6:30 – 8:00 – to whatever is not done yet for the day, either more school work, replies to messages, or laundry, or all of the above. With frequent stops, of course, for cuddles, random conversations about something someone learned in school that day, or a book or two.
8:00 – Kids bedtime, kids get in their jammies, and up to bed (if on time) they get a story before sleepies
8:30 – 11:30 – This is my time to relax, so I usually have “my shows” going while I fiddle on my lap top some more, usually doing more research for healthy information, scheduling more updates, connecting with more people I hope to help, and/or getting some school work done
11:30 – Sleep!
The neat thing about technology is I have twitter and facebook to meet and connect with new people on, hootsuite to send out my updates for me so I don’t need to be on ALL the time, tweetadder (a software program) that adds new people to my network FOR me, and wiifii which allows me to work from anywhere at any time. I can post a blog, then go take the laundry out of the dryer. I can take Ava to the potty, then answer an email about Shakeology, lol. I LOVE working from home, because I get to be with my kids every day, taking them to and from school, helping them with homework, reading them stories, cooking their meals, tucking them in every night, but I still get to do something MORE, something outside of my OWN home and family. Something where I can help others and pay it forward, so that they will pay it forward too, and so on, and maybe I will have had a hand in something wonderful happening in the world. All while still being the mommy I want to be. Pretty sweet.
Motivational Monday!
From The Secret Daily Teachings:
“Begin your day by feeling grateful. Be grateful for the bed you just slept in, the roof over your head, the carpet or floor under your feet, the running water, the soap, your shower, your toothbrush, your clothes, your shoes, the refrigerator that keeps your food cold, the car that you drive, your job, your friends. Be grateful for the stores that make it so easy to buy the things you need, the restaurants, the utilities, services, and electrical appliances that make your life effortless. Be grateful for the magazines and the books that you read. Be grateful for the chair that you sit on, and the pavement that you walk on. Be grateful for the weather, the sun, the sky, the birds, the trees, the grass, the rain, and the flowers. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
May the joy be with you,

Motivational Monday!
Today starts a new week, and I would love to help you start it off right. So here is your motivation for Monday:
“Our greatess weakness lies in giving up.The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” ~ Thomas Edison
Eat Well - Be Healthy - Be responsible for what you put in your body!
Check the labels on everything you buy/eat! If the list of ingredients is more than 3-5, put it down! Stay away from the whites: sugar, salt, and flour. Remember to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day - EVERYDAY! Stay away from soda, energy drinks that are full of sugar, and caffeinated beverages! I switched from black tea to green tea. There are many different tea blends that offer delicious flavors and health benefits, without the caffeine.
Get your body moving!! Everyone is busy, tired, and feels blah sometimes, but you MUST find time to exercise regularly. If it means getting up 30 minutes earlier than usual so you can stretch, and walk up and down the stairs in your house - do that. If it means taking a walk around the parking lot of your work place on your lunch hour - do that. If you can make it to the gym in the morning or at night - great. If you are like me, you like to pop in a dvd and sweat it out in your living room. There are a LOT of great workouts out there, one for every personality, find the one that suits YOU so you will keep with it!!
Enjoy your week everyone! Remember to take care of yourself the way that you would take care of the ones you love!! Contact me with any questions or concerns, or if you would like to do what I do and coach others while building your financial independence! Pay it forward … <3
